Recreating Madeleine Vionnet

The goal of this study was to recreate this Madeleine Vionnet’s dress from the early 20th century and adjust it to the modern figure. In order to do so I used both traditional and digital (Lectra Modaris) pattern cutting methods to produce a refined outcome.
After completing my final toile I also created the dress in Clo3d.
Madeleine Vionnet was undoubtedly brilliant and the study of her dress definitely made me a better, more confident pattern cutter.
Realising the pattern and fit in Lectra and Clo3d improved my digital skills and showcased the potential of integrating both traditional and digital pattern cutting methods to produce highly refined outcomes.
